A trained and certified translator, I have worked 25 years now – in various capacities – with translation, language technology, and communication in a broad sense. My years of experience have given me unparalleled proficiency as a translator and a keen appreciation of how to best arrange the translation process, integrating and utilizing state-of-the-art machine translation tools whenever they are helpful — and disabling them when they are not.
This is a part-time vocation for me. I run the business alongside my regular job as a translator and communications assistant at a Danish law firm. And while I am, therefore, sometimes compelled to decline assignments for lack of time, my circumstances allow me to accept only those jobs where I know I will be able to deliver a first-class product.
Services
I specialize in the translation of legal documents, having translated privacy notices, employment agreements, wills, marriage certificates, user agreements, terms of sales, data protection policies, judgments, shareholders’ agreements, patent applications, articles of association, company announcements, contracts, service level agreements, due diligence reports, pleadings, legal opinions, and everything in between. In 2017, I was approved as a provider of translations to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
A hugely experienced translator of commercial and marketing writings, I have translated everything from traditional-style corporate presentations, press releases, promotional campaigns and product advertisements to the more recent hybrid forms of publications combining promotional presentations and required reporting such as ESG reports, CSR reports, and annual reviews.
Not one to keep score, but I am sure the number of financial texts I have translated is well into triple digits. Examples include annual reports, interim accounts, income statements, accounting principles, prospectus summaries, stock exchange announcements, audit opinions and reports, estate accounts, and key investor information documents.
An experienced translator of journalistic writings, too, I have lent my skills and expertise to the translation of a variety of journalistic material such as newspaper and magazine clippings and feature articles for websites and blogs. I have also translated – and in some cases narrated – podcast scripts.
Popular science
I also translate popular science. My most recent work in this field is the translation into Danish of professor Richard Dawkins’ marvelous and beautifully illustrated book entitled "The Magic of Reality: How We Know What's Really True" – a book that explains in an engaging and easy-to-read prose, yet in fascinating detail, the wonders of the natural world as revealed to us by science.
I am an experienced and highly accomplished proofreader of Danish and English texts. Proofreading, of course, is the checking for typos, grammatical errors, spelling errors, punctuation mistakes, etc. If you are in need of a full and proper text revision, in which your text will be reviewed for coherence, readability and structure, well, then I'm your man, too.
A certified translator with a combined 25 years’ experience as an inhouse translator with two of the biggest Danish law firms, I have the skills, the experience and the personal competencies to translate all types of legal texts and more.
I use state-of-the-art language technology tools, analyzing each text for word count, repetitions and match values, making sure my customers benefit from the best machine and AI translation tools on the market.
Knowing that speed is always a priority, I do everything I can to ensure fast turnaround. Still, my business is only a part-time vocation and one to which I cannot dedicate all of my time. This will inevitably affect the timeline – which will, therefore, always be agreed upfront.
